What I can lead:
growth, experiments & AI.
For hiring managers, recruiters, and consulting buyers: this is the practical scope behind the résumé. I build experimentation programmes that connect customer behavior, measurement, AI-enabled delivery, and cross-functional execution to revenue decisions. The sections below show the roles this background fits and the evidence behind the language.
Titles This
Work Goes By.
Worth knowing if you write these briefs: "A/B testing", "CRO", and "experimentation" are almost never in the job title. They live in the description body. The titles below are what the roles are actually called.
Experimentation leadership
Roles that own the testing programme itself — its methodology, its governance, and whether the business trusts the numbers coming out of it.
- Head of Experimentation
- Director of Experimentation
- Experimentation Program Lead
- Head of Testing & Optimisation
- Director of Digital Optimization
- Head of CRO
Growth leadership
Roles where experimentation is the engine but the mandate is revenue — the titles that carry the widest search volume in the market today.
- Head of Growth
- Director of Growth
- VP Growth
- Growth Lead
- Senior Growth Marketing Manager
- Principal Product Manager, Growth
Conversion & optimisation
The CRO-titled band. Rarer as a literal job title than most people assume, but standard in agency, e-commerce, and UK/EU briefs.
- CRO Manager
- Conversion Rate Optimisation Manager
- Conversion Rate Optimization Manager
- Senior CRO Strategist
- Landing Page Optimization Manager
- UX & Conversion Manager
Fractional & advisory
How this work is most often bought now — senior judgement on a defined scope, without a headcount req.
- Fractional Head of Growth
- Fractional Head of Experimentation
- Experimentation Consultant
- CRO Consultant
- A/B Testing Consultant
- Growth Advisor
The Vocabulary
These Briefs Use.
Experimentation & testing
The core discipline: designing tests that answer a question the business actually has, and that survive scrutiny afterwards.
Conversion rate optimisation
Conversion rate optimization and conversion rate optimisation are the same discipline spelled two ways — worth stating plainly, because search and ATS keyword filters treat them as different strings.
Statistics & causal inference
The part that separates a testing programme from a guessing programme. An inconclusive result can reflect insufficient power, so feasibility and detectable effect are sized before creative work begins.
Behavioural science
Behavioral economics and behavioural economics, again the same field. This is the diagnostic layer — why a funnel leaks, not just where.
Analytics & measurement
Connecting test outcomes to money, which is usually where experimentation programmes lose executive support.
Platform vocabulary
The vendor names that appear in these briefs. Listed as the market’s vocabulary rather than a proficiency claim — the methodology is what transfers between them.
What Backs
the Keywords.
A keyword list is worthless on its own — every candidate has the same one. These are the numbers underneath mine.

Asked by
Recruiters & Founders.
What job titles is Atticus Li a fit for?
Head of Experimentation, Director of Experimentation, Head of Growth, Director of Growth, VP Growth, Head of CRO, Conversion Rate Optimisation Manager, and fractional equivalents of each. The common thread is ownership of a testing programme tied to revenue rather than engagement metrics. At NRG, that work scaled annual experiment velocity from roughly 20 to 100+, and internal 2025 program reporting recorded $30M+ in impact.
Is Atticus Li a CRO expert or an experimentation expert?
Both, and in practice they are one job. Conversion rate optimisation is the commercial framing; experimentation is the method that makes it defensible. The distinction matters mainly to job boards — a CRO Manager brief and a Head of Experimentation brief typically describe the same underlying work at different levels of statistical rigour.
What is the difference between CRO and conversion rate optimisation?
Nothing. CRO is the acronym, conversion rate optimization is the American spelling, and conversion rate optimisation is the British one. All three describe the practice of increasing the share of visitors who complete a valuable action, using controlled experiments rather than opinion.
Does Atticus Li do A/B testing consulting?
Yes — as a one-time audit, a 90-day sprint to stand up a programme, or an ongoing fractional engagement. Typical scope is diagnosing why a funnel underperforms, designing the experiment roadmap, and setting the statistical standards the results will be judged against.
What industries has Atticus Li run experiments in?
Energy and utilities, financial services, SaaS, e-commerce, and marketplaces — including Fortune 150 and Fortune 500 environments where regulatory constraints shape what can be tested. Programme experience spans a large multi-brand energy retailer and Silicon Valley Bank.
Is Atticus Li available for fractional or advisory work?
Yes. Fractional Head of Growth and Head of Experimentation engagements are the most common arrangement, alongside one-time audits. Enquiries go through atticusli.com/work-with-me.
