The demo was impressive. Users were excited. The AI generated responses that felt magical. Then the underlying model improved, and everyone else's product got the same capabilities overnight. Or worse, the model provider launched its own interface that did exactly what the wrapper did.

The interface, the onboarding, the documentation, the support — these are the reasons users choose your product over calling the API directly. A great UX reduces the skill required to get value from AI, which expands your addressable market.

Phase 2: Build Quality Systems
Add validation, scoring, and feedback loops. Make the output more reliable than raw API output. This is the moment your product becomes more valuable than the API alone.
Phase 3: Deepen Workflow Integration
Connect to the tools your users already use. Make your product the hub of a workflow, not a standalone tool. The more connected it is, the stickier it becomes.
Phase 4: Build Proprietary Models (Maybe)
